Attune is built local-first and runs without an account. Most of the things that go wrong with apps don't apply here. If something does, this page should help. If not, write to support@attune.pet.
How does it work?
You film your pet for thirty seconds, or upload an existing clip. Attune pulls six evenly-spaced frames from the video and sends them to Claude (Anthropic's AI model) for analysis. The response comes back as observations along the timeline, a score, a plain-language finding, and a suggested drill to try next. The whole flow takes about ten seconds.
Where is my data?
On your phone. Pet profiles, training threads, walks, vet records, weight, and medications all live in local storage. Nothing is synced to our servers. The only thing that leaves the device is the six-frame video sample sent to Claude during analysis, plus Apple HealthKit reads when you take a walk. Details in the privacy policy.
How do I delete my data?
Open Settings and tap Reset. That wipes pets, threads, walks, and the medical record back to a blank state. Your Anthropic API key (if you set one) stays, so you don't have to paste it back in. Uninstalling the app also removes everything; iOS handles that cleanup on its own.
What does Attune ask permission for?
Four permissions, each with a specific use:
- Camera and microphone, to record clips of your pet
- Photo library, to import existing videos
- Location (while in use), for live walk tracking
- Apple HealthKit, to sync walks as workouts
None is required to demo the app's core flows. iOS will ask the first time each one comes up, and you can change your mind in iOS Settings later.
